<p> We saw the Chris Barber band three days ago. They do an annual
gig in a village hall on the Oxfordshire, Berkshire border. It's a
privilege to hear a group of astoundingly good musicians in such
an intimate session. I think the mare, mère confusion might have
started as a joke; Politically incorrect men used "mare" to
describe women sometimes. <br>
