<div dir="ltr"><div>I have seen Jim doing it. Certainly funny. In general, I enjoyed the Canal Street very much, as well as the company of Jim and his lovely wife. <br> But, when I was a young and eager fan (1959) I saw Trummy Young do it with Armstrong All Stars, ant it put me off Tummy Young for years. He had various “tricks” he would do. One was to begin to laugh while trying to start a song. He had a very contagious laugh, and he would repeat the count-off over & over, never quite making it until he had the whole audience roaring with laughter. The nights he DIDN’T do that trick, I was disappointed!
