<div dir="ltr">I basically agree - having played there from the late 70s until last year, in a variety of bands (in many different styles, not all OKOM.) <div>I first played Sacto with the Churchill Street Jazz Band - did that for 3 years, then later with Earl Sheelars's Zenith Brass Band many years (for the parade) and then much later with the California Repercussions - an 80 piece rock and roll/jazz/novelty marching band - for maybe a dozen years. <p class="m_-5755601135013530026gmail-MsoNormal">Historically the event used to be a very large international
event. Thanks to the many contacts with numerous foreign bands at the festival,
the Gassers subsequently toured areas such as Kowloon, Tasmania, New Zealand,
Japan (3X), British Isles and many European and Scandinavian countries. In
1989, NGJB spent two weeks in the <span>Soviet Union</span> where
they became the first American jazz band to play in <span>Siberia</span>. This tour was initiated by the Leningrad
Dixieland Jazz Band at a previous Sacramento Jubilee.</p>

volunteers that Bill Borcher put together for the first Jubilee – you folks
