Indeed, Jim; Jude and I have pleasant memories of meeting you and
Orla in Madrid (an alarming number of years ago now), visiting
your club and even sitting in on a number, as I recall. Of course
we know Marek, having met him in places as far apart as Bude in
Cornwall and Kecskemét, Hungary, and admire his passion for jazz
(though his taste is a little narrower than ours; after all I
called my younger son Miles :-)).

And, while paying tribute to this list, let's not forget the
wonderful and much-missed Bill Gunter, who with his wife Bev
became good friends and opened many doors for us on our visits to
the US. More doors were opened by Bill Haesler and Ross Anderson
(both, I'm glad to say still with us), on our 2015 trip to
Australia. The DJML has certainly enriched our lives beyond
measure. Long may it continue.
list, DJML has shown itself to be an “Ambassador of Jazz” on
the world scene, having brought myself & my wife into
direct friendship (as opposed to only on-line) with our

by his postings, Marek is a great guy (my wife would say “a
lovely chap”!), and we had 3 nice evenings full of food,
