I love the rising melody of the verse.

The closest I was able to get is a piano solo version and a lead sheet - it is not very close to the recording (except for the Verse).

Then, I discovered a copy of the orchestration in the Special Collections Department, Mississippi State University Libraries. They post an image of the front cover - however, they wanted $10 per page - times 24 pages.

Do you have any sources for this?

I?d be happy to pay $1 per page - but $250US is unreasonable. Most libraries & archives charge about $.25 per page -

Send me an email if you would like attachments to hear the recording and see the piano solo publication - attachments here are limited -

Cheers,

Andrew

-------------- next part --------------
An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
URL: <http://ml.islandnet.com/pipermail/dixielandjazz/attachments/20170312/5d56b1d7/attachment-0001.html>
-------------- next part --------------
A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
Name: 36384.jpeg
Type: image/jpeg
Size: 4134 bytes
Desc: not available
URL: <http://ml.islandnet.com/pipermail/dixielandjazz/attachments/20170312/5d56b1d7/attachment-0001.jpeg>

------------------------------

Message: 2
Date: Sun, 12 Mar 2017 21:38:27 -0700
From: "Robert Ringwald" <rsr@ringwald.com>
To: "DJML" <dixielandjazz@ml.islandnet.com>
Cc: Dixieland Jazz Mailing List <dixielandjazz@ml.islandnet.com>
Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Count Basie - NPR
Message-ID: <CEA566E91A8242D0ADE0A4F1F881766A@Boblap>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

What a band!

http://www.npr.org/2017/02/13/514997502/jumpin-at-the-woodside-catches-count-basie-and-his-band-honing-their-art

Bob Ringwald piano, Solo, Duo, Trio, Quartet, Quintet
Fulton Street Jazz Band (Dixieland/Swing)
916/ 806-9551
Amateur (ham) Radio Station K6YBV

When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators.
-P.J.
