George Phillips<br class=""><br class="">Around 1956-57 trumpeter Don Fowler and clarinetist George Phillips, two musicians from <br class="">the Pacific Northwest, recreated the Original Dixieland Jazz Band on this rather unique <br class="">LP. Using trombonist George Phillips, pianist George Ruschka and drummer Darrell Renfro, <br class="">they perform a dozen ODJBselections note-for-note from the original recordings of 40 <br class="">years earlier. It must have taken a great deal of work and research to get this down <br class="">correctly but somehow the bizarre project works.
