The Trad Jazz Productions has a double CD, "Bob Helm with the El Dorado Jazz Band 1955." The personnel is: CD 1, CD 2, 1-13: Jim Borkenhagen (trumpet), Bob Helm, Jim Leigh (trombone), Pete Fay (piano), Danny Ruedger (bjo and vocals) and Squire Girsback on string bass. On CD 2, 14-19, it read "add Rowlan Working (clarinet) and subtract the bass. >>>Hello Listmates!
Do any of you have any information on the "Epitaph" records from the El Dorado Jazz Band (Los Angeles). I did a search, and I found an old thread from this list, and Mike Logsdon made reference to it....any and all info is appreciated, as I have just acquired copies of all 6 albums.
Thanks in advance,
Oh, such memories! Wish I could be of any help, as the only info I could gather was from this list (or maybe not, I don't recall). All I know is that for my personal archiving I worked from originals borrowed from Hal Smith, and even though I know I made photocopies of the relevant data, I'm more than certain that today such photocopies either don't exist, or can't be found (in my archive).

I do recall not archiving all six, maybe only the "main five", and only because one (or two) of them were mere misc compilations of less-than-stellar quality. (That's just my mileage, of course.)

I've actually been meaning to pull those CDs out and enjoy them again.
