<div><font size="2" face="Arial"><span>Our trumpeter for
the last 38 years, Pepe Nuñez, had a brain hemorage last week and did not pull
through it. The funeral was yesterday. I will miss his big trumpet sound
and the easy banter he & I in particular shared on and off the stage.
His just over 5 foot stature alongside of my 6 foot plus height was always a
crowd pleaser & we both played up to it as much as possible. Maybe he
was short, but he was taller than most as a caring human being. Pepe
was 81 years old and our last gig together was just two weeks ago.
