          transfers are the best I've heard of these classic recordings

          and, yes, I'm aware of the supposed "definitive" issues on CD.

          The "bite" of Beiderbecke's playing comes across superbly," do

          you mean - on the CDs, or the LPs?  I have not heard the

          German reissues, but the sound of Bix comes through very well

          on American Columbia LPs, something I cannot say of the CD

          reissues I've heard.<br>
