Closer to home, neither our local Times, Dispatch or Argus, mentioned Bix's birthday in their March 10th editions. Rich Shame On Sie by Albert Haim Out of curiosity I looked up the web editions of three prestigious newspapers -New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune- for stories about or a mention of Bix's 100th birthday. Nothing!! Did the paper editions carry any item about Bix around March 10? Phil Schaap was right. Among all the jazz giants, Bix's centenary appears to be the one that has had the least amount of coverage. Not even a notice of Bix's 100th birthday in the three above-mentioned newspapers?
