I would suggest Dave goes to the mailing list web site..

See if he can login and if not, see if it will send a password reminder. 
If it doesn't, then his email address has probably been removed, so try 
registering again.

If he does manage to login then check all the options are set to 
something sensible, particularly the ones about receiving emails, making 
sure holiday mode is off and stuff like that.

Beyond that I can't really help, so hope there is something useful there.

And yes, Marek is missed. He certainly knew how to keep discussions 
alive. I got close to meeting him on one of his trips to London, but 
couldn't quite get things aligned. He passed away soon after that 
attempt, so it never happened. Although in email exchanges it seemed we 
may have crossed paths without knowing it at some of the UK jazz festivals.
