[Dixielandjazz] High C and Gabriel's shofar

Did Doc Severinsen say that he made 90% of his money under High c?
(recent DJML question)

variations on a song by Edgar Hayes et. al. ...
(or perhaps even a verse for between choruses?)

Submariner navigating mostly stormy ocean,
all around him stirred in vigorous motion,
he being both strong of stomach and very bold
and hopefully insulated against the cold
and/ or fortified by an alco-frolic potion?

a life under the ocean wave,
a home where you need to be brave
in the dark, shiver-making deep
where tars and ships' orchestras sleep
in sea-bed salt water, spacious common grave?

And if Gabriel's stolen horn is got back
by the mer-detectives long on its track
there could be an end to moaning and weeping --
and the ships' musicians decades steeping
jamming arise on a tide no more slack . . .
