[Dixielandjazz] Sweet Patootie composer?

This won't be much help but the two earlier Melbourne recordings in the
'60s during the local trad boom were by Frank Johnson's Fabulous
Dixielanders and Frank Traynor's Jazz Preachers. Both top bands. Johnson
showed the origin of the song as "Trad arr Johnson" and Traynor as "Frank
Traynor arrangement (Woomera Music)". Interestingly the Johnson recording
fell foul of censorship and missed out on airplay because of saucy lyrics
while the Traynor single got to the top of the local Top 40, the only jazz
recording to ever do so.
