For those of you who remember the theme song to the TV series Batman, composed by Neal Hefti.

This anecdote was told by Jimmy Bryant about the recording session for the theme. Jimmy is the one who sang the ultra-high note at the end.

It seems that Neal Hefti came into the studio with the sheet music at the top of which was written: Word & Music by Neal Hefti.

Just in case someone doesn't get the joke, the lyric goes like this:

Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman, Batman

Batman, Batman, Batman

Da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da da

"And God promised man that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then God made the earth round and laughed and laughed and laughed.
