Personnel.
I know nothing about arrangements, but I've never heard the Ellington band without a piano.  Not that it matters, as long as it sounds good.

Thanks Marek! To be completely honest i never really had any interest in playing Ellington tunes. This one jumped out at me, likely since it's so different from his normal compositions. One big difference being that the original doesnt include any piano either! What do you mean by lineup? The musicians or the songs to be on the album?

We're about to start recording our first album. I've been sifting through more obscure selections of trad. I fell in love with Awful Sad as soon as  I heard it. It is pretty different from most Ellington tunes I've and I really enjoy all those spooky harmonies. We're obviously arranging it for a much smaller ensemble than ellington intended but I think it came out well. Let me know what ya'll think!
