AND A MERRY ONE TO ALL OF YOU  --   holly-day or whatever is 
caughtpricklycally co-pecked!


Memories of a concert with my piano-playing friend Professor Smith and 
his wife, Art Hodes playing the tune I'm insufficiently chicken to 
perform in Public, to wit "Maryland, my Maryland" -- as Mrs. Smith being 
German chortled at Tannenbaum in August, and the Professor at the 
sponsor's huge red banner (TDK) above the piano while one of his 
grandparents' fellow exiles from the Shtetl swung rather than waved 
(maybe waived?) THE RED FLAG . .

We'll chomp our Christmas Dinner here
and wash the pudding down with beer
once we've made the turkey skeleton shine,
the tender bits downed laved with wine

and then we'll further problematise
standing up again with liqueur and pies  . . .
Buon Natale, Happy Hanukah,
and the minty sweets without hint of "Bah!"

Here's the Canal Street Jazz Band's version of "O Tannenbaum" that we 
did
"long-distance" last week.  We did this mainly to say Merry Christmas to
send to our fan's Whatsapp group, but fits the bill for me to say Merry
