Yep, Bechet was Bechet was Bechet.
I don't know which of his versions was the "definitive" one. While I've
always read that Bchet played the song"straight," the versions differ in
time (I've measured) and sound. A bit like Louis. Ane even BG's doesn't
quite measure up. Edmond Hal's is great, but the only one that differs
greatly is Rex Stewart's, but he makes it a cornet solo.
