Here’s an interesting listen, along the same lines.
Listen to the last four chords of “Music of the Night” from Phantom...Opera on YouTube.
Check out Michael Crawford fishing around trying to figger out where his “unison” held note fits into each chord. Definitely an ear test for him.

As for vocal quality, I prefer the version by Ciaran Sheehan. But maybe that’s because he is an acquaintance. He is tested by the same challenge in this clip:

p.s. As you know, the bVI7 you mentioned functions like a German sixth chord, one of the three main types of augmented sixth chords, French and Italian being the other two.
