Hello, Bill—
Ain't no way I could have confused Wingy for Yank or the Mount City Blue Blowers for a Bobcats unit. The kazoo with the MCBB turned me off (though I dug it when Tony Spargo/Sbarbaro played it later with Phil Napoleon). But I was wrong in saying that my "High Society" record was by the Bobcats. I looked it up and found it was a mostly Bobcats-based group on Capitol with Manone on trumpet, led by Nappy Lamare (and his Levee Loungers—loved that name). The flip side was "At the Jazz Band Ball," circa 1948. The other players were Matty Matlock, cl., Eddie Miller, ts., Irvin Verret, tb., Stan Wrightsman, pno., Budd Hatch, bs, and Ray Bauduc, drs.
