Hi Charlie,

Too bad IAJRC is disbanding: as jazz slides further and further from
mainstream entertainment interest I suppose it's inevitable, but
nevertheless highly regrettable as it represents a loss of accumulated
knowledge and information.

I'm intrigued by Roger Clark's article on Scottish jazz. I've been
active on the Scottish jazz scene for 60 years and thought I knew just
about everyone in it, but the name Roger Clark doesn't ring any bells
unless it's the Australian saxophonist of that name. I'd be very
interested in knowing what's in the article as my involvement has been
across the board: running a jazz club for 14 years, promotion, festival
management, composing and arranging as well as playing in styles ranging
from New Orleans to hard bop and beyond (and everything in between).
Indeed, my Classic Jazz Orchestra's repertoire reflects that "Morton to
Mingus and beyond" view - sometimes in the space of a single number!

Regards,

Ken Mathieson
