[Dixielandjazz] Ted Shafer, RIP

[Bert Thompson]

 Ted Shafer, leader of the Jelly Roll Jazz Band and owner of the Merry Makers Records label, died this morning, Aug. 7th.   His health had been failing for some time.  Thanks to Ted we have many recordings of trad jazz bands that otherwise would not have been.  Bert Thompson
