The Hogan Jazz Archive at Tulane University has an extensive collection of interviews on tape of New Orleans jazz musicians. I don’t know how soon, if ever, they will be put on line. Dr. Bruce Raeburn retired as archive director and the staff (and budget) has been reduced to the two former assistants.

I stumbled upon a website of the Rutgers University Libraries “Institute of Jazz Studies” which has taped interviews of prominent jazz musicians. Among the musicians are Charlie Barnet, Count Basie, Cozy Cole, Sunny Greer, Buddy Tate, Cootie Williams, Lester Young, Mary Lou Williams, etc. Many interviews have not yet been uploaded to the internet, but those that have would be of interest to most of us.
