Look at "Pete Kelly's Blues" starring Jack Webb, "Blues In The Night" 
starring Pricilla Lane, and maybe "New Orleans" starring Louis Armstrong.

"Pete Kelly's Blues" has Jack Webb's usual wooden soldier acting, but it 
also has Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee.

"Blues In The Night" has corn-ball acting, but some good musical numbers, 
including the Jimmy Lunceford Band.

"New Orleans" isn't that good as a movie, but has some good music, and a 
sound track recording is available which includes numbers left on the 
editing room floor.
