Barbes is a good choice.

Grove Street Stompers at Arthurs on Monday nights.

Vince Giordano and his big band the Nighthawks at Iguana restaurant Monday
and Tuesday nights (not quite 'trad', but I can't imagine you'll be
displeased).

There is a trad jam at Monas in the East Village Tuesday nights starting at
11pm and going until 'stupid late'.

David Ostwald's Louis Armstrong Eternity Band at Birdland every Wednesday
at 5:30.
