The original posting brought no replies. Perhaps now I'll have better luck.

Subject: Whatever happened to Brooks Kerr
To: Dixielandjazz at ml.islandnet.com

Many years ago, sometime in the '70's of the previous century, I went to
hear a young (then) blind American pianist, Brooks Kerr, at the Tel-Aviv
Museum. I had previously read about him in Down Beat, so I alerted my
friends of his appearing in Israel. Although all references to Brooks Kerr
mention Ellingtonian associates, in Israel his accompanists were Al Morgan
on bass and Panama Francis on drums (we later took Mr. Francis to a bar
where an Israeli jazz group was playing; the others preferred to retire to
their hotel).
I bought the first - and only - Kerr LP I saw, The Soda Fountain Rag
apparently recorded in 1975.
Anyway, after the '70's he seemed to have disappeared. Any idea of his
whereabouts? Is he still playing?
Cheers
