Apparently the brother committed suicide a year or so before Bill Evans died, according to a brief bio on internet of "cirrhosis and untreated hepatitis." I have no firm data, now, about how elder brother happened to be buried in Baton Rouge. Maybe, as you suggest, Ken, brother was teaching in LA. Guess we'll have to read the biography to get that data, unless Bill Haesler, settler of arguments and frequent "last word" authority also has that info at his fingertips! (smile)

Dear Norman and Ken,
I am sure the answers it will be covered in the Peter Pettinger book.
(I did not notice that my dreaded spellchecker had altered the surname.)
It is also there in a more personal account, 'The Two Brothers As I Knew Them. Harry and Bill Evans. As remembered by
Pat Evans, wife of Harry Evans sister-in-law to Bill Evans’ at http://harryevanstrio.com/The_Two_Brothers.pdf
The brothers were very close and it was Bill Evans' wish to be buried next to his brother.
Kind regards,
Bill.
