Important hot jazz news from John Petters

Dear Jazz friends,

I am having problems with the way the jazz mailing list has been sent to
you. My internet service provider restricts the number of e-mails I can
send at once and I am therefore trialling mail chimp.

Any mailing list is only good it is up to date, so I would really
appreciate it if you could let me know that you are receiving the messages
and that you do wish to continue receiving them.

In addition,I would like to remind you that our final gig at Old Harlow for
the season is as follows:
Thursday 27th July @ 8pm

St John's Arts Centre, St John's Walk, Market St. Old Harlow, CM17 0AH

Fats, James P, Jelly & Joplin

Admission is only £10

Details: 01406 365 731

A feast of Ragtime, Blues, Stride and Swing piano is promised when piano
professor Martin Litton joins bassist, Keith Donald and drummer John
Petters for the final jazz concert of the season at St John's Art Centre,
St John's Walk, Market St. Old Harlow, CM17 0AH on Thursday 27th July at
8PM.

The music and songs of Fats Waller, including Handful of Keys, Ain't
Misbehavin', and Honeysuckle Rose together with James P Johnson's Carolina
Shout and the Charleston will form part of the evening concert in the
Harlem Stride style.

Early Ragtime numbers, The Entertainer, Maple Leaf Rag, and the Ragtime
Dance will lead on to the Honky-Tonk style of New Orleans professor, Jelly
Roll Morton with such Blues as Winin' Boy, 2:19 Blues and stomps, Grandpa's
Spells, and King Porter Stomp.

The swing style will be evidenced by Martin Litton's interpretation of the
music of Duke Ellington, Earl Hines and Teddy Wilson.

Martin Litton is the leading exponent of early jazz and Ragtime piano
styles.
