If you're already on the Jazz On The Tube e-list, then this will be redundant.
But, if not, then it's worth a few minutes to see/hear Dick Hyman's performance of Whispering .

Dick was a perennial guest at Dick Gibson's jazz parties and I enjoyed seeing/hearing him there. After Gibson shut down in early 90s, after 30 consecutive Labor Day weekend events, Mat Domber/Arbors Records picked up and Hyman was a regular guest at those events. Sad to say, that after Domber's death in 2012, that party in Clearwater, FL also was discontinued.
( Note in this photo, he's wearing glasses. Following cataract surgery, he now no longer needs glasses)

Hyman has lots of videos on YouTube and one was done in his home in Venice, FL . I was amazed to see an entire bookshelf wall filled with CDs and music.
Dick Hyman is a charming gentleman as well.

Pianist/keyboardist and composer Richard "Dick" Hyman was born March 8, 1927 in New York City, New York.

Dick Hyman got his introduction to the piano from his mother's brother the classical concert pianist Anton Rovinsky.

As a World War II veteran enrolled
in Columbia University, he won an
on-air piano competition that earned
him 12 free lessons from Teddy Wlson.

A few years later, he become Benny
Goodman's pianist.

In addition to being a performer, Hyman is a composer, educator and great scholar of the piano, especially ragtime and early jazz.

Here he is playing "Whispering"
in a 1992 performance at The
Hotel Macklowe.
