Hi Jonathan,

When are you planning to be in Scotland? The Edinburgh Jazz Festival 
runs 15-24 July, so will be over by the time you get here, but the 
massive Edinburgh Fringe Festival runs all August and features 
entertainment of every kind you can imagine, including jazz, so plenty 
to see and hear. Online programme at

Bert Thompson has already told you about the regular Friday early-jazz 
gig in Edinburgh, but there's lots more jazz of every genre in the city. 
My band, Classic Jazz Orch (CJO), isn't working in Edinburgh in August 
(most of us are working on Fringe shows), but CJO will be appearing at a 
small festival in a nearby seaside town, North Berwick, on Sat 13 Aug at 
1:00pm. Details at http://www.fringebythesea.co.uk/all-events/music/  
and scroll down to Sat 13th. Let me know if you're likely to come along 
and I'll organise comp tickets.

Outside of Edinburgh, jazz can be found in the main cities, but in many 
places it's almost off the radar, so a bit of detective work might be 
needed. If you can give me rough dates and itinerary for your Scotand 
visit, I'll ask around to see what's on across the country.
