Dear Robert,
I agree.
But who was he?
At that time Mahalia also used a female pianist (I forget who).
Traditional discographies are of no help, as there do not appear to be any for Mahalia's later recordings.
Apart from those internet compilations (so-called 'discographies') of artists' LP and CD albums containing tune lists.
