This from Jim Maihack who played tuba with the band for about 7-years and is also a trombone player.


I just remember that it was a Conn trombone that Conn had discontinued making before I joined the band.  He had two of  them.  I can't tell you the model number but maybe Tom Bartlett or Charlie Bornemann could.
