Interesting.   That is around $4400 a year take home for the sidemen while
the average family wage was about $3900 (-gross, I think).  One chart
equates the $4400 to about $26000.

Kid Ory's contract at the Beverly Caverns in Los Angeles.  $700 a week + 5%
of the drinks!  8pm until 2am...long night!!
