Randy;

There was a band created during the '20s called the "Mound City Blue
Blowers". Of course, the Mound City refers to St. Louis. This band was
started by Red McKenzie.

There was also an actor named Nick Stuart who worked in films in the '30s
and also had a band. One of his movies was "The Man With The Band From Movie
Land".

The above was a band ( an orchestra?)led by Merle Carlson during the late
1920s that seemed to be a territory band working primarily in the mid-west.
In 1932 they are in Woodland, California and later in '33 or 34 Carlson is
leading a CBS Radio Orchestra in LA. He worked a territory band until about
1938 when Nick Stuart took over the band. Can anyone point me to more info
about MC and his history, Thanks Randy Fendrick.
