a very able author on OKOM, John Postgate, with as well as his Plain Man's Guide to Jazz a mightily impressive Jazz Monthly article on what he saw as a St; Louis trumpet style, going back to Baby James and Dewey Jackson, taking in Joe Thomas, and Clark Terry, and even indeed Miles Dewey Davis.  A very good friend to listening, but with a much wider range,  for whose writing some of us are very grateful,
