[Dixielandjazz] To All DJML Members

Too bad to hear that Jazz Jerry, or rather, did we really need to hear
that? Was it Nietzsche who said that every complaint carries within
it an urge for revenge? ;)

fwiw, I'm not getting much out of the FB group, but it doesn't bother
me because what I don't see doesn't register on my wall and so I don't
miss that I'm missing it.

ditto mailing lists, which nearly all get terribly quiet over the
summer months as people are off out in the sunshine actually playing
the music, or on tour as I'm seen *several* young NOLA-based street
bands now out in the UK and France sending me video postcards from
country fields in Provence, which I find terribly encouraging! :) And
I'm seeing my Toronto friends post more and more photos showing their
bands sporting more and more younger and younger people, even people
of the under-represented female gender, and if find *that* terribly
encouraging too.

but old grumps complaining about what they don't get that they figure
they should get, well, I don't find that terribly interesting really,
so I guess your complaint is a self-fulfilling prophesy list-content
wise, but I will say that I recently heard Pops say (in that famous
interview that polishes off the bottle of russian liqueur) "I don't
have time for worrying about what *should* be coming to me, I got
plenty as it is" or words to that effect ;)
