[Dixielandjazz] Ron or Ronn Weatherburn?

Does anybody know when or why Ron Weatherburn became Ronn 
Weatherburn?  He's Ron on my three early Kenny Ball LPs, and he was 
still Ron on a 1974 Rediffusion LP, but appears to have become Ronn 
by the time he made an LP for Stomp Off in 1985.

Google searches on both variations return hits, although Ron seems to 
be far more prevalent.
