FYI- 



By informing the good members of DJML of the problems we are having with Islandnet and our pending move, I have evidently really created a fire storm. 



However, we really do appreciate all of the opinions of our members. It’s nice to know that you are out there and that you care about the List. 



As our good Listmate Phil Crumley of the Natural Gas Jazz Band is fond of saying, “Is this a great list or what???”



We, the staff and management of DJML, which of course consists of myself as Moderator and Dave Haupt Assistant Moderator wish to let you know our plans for DJML. 



First, we would like to continue to use the MailMan software that DJML has been using for years. This for several reasons including “If it aint broke, don’t fix it.”



It is simple to use, text based and we are all used to it. Also, it will enable us to continue to use the same archives. 



We plan to get our own domain and move the List to somewhere where we have more control over it. When this happens, we will be asking for some donations to pay for the Domain and new home for DJML but this should not be very much money. 



Second, neither Dave nor I want to get involved with Facebook. However, if someone would like to volunteer to run the DJML Facebook page and have it tied into our List, that would be fine with us. Judging by some of the comments from the Listmates, it very possibly could be beneficial to DJML itself. 



We would need someone who would be willing to uphold the standards of conduct that we have kept on DJML since Peter first started the List. This person would have to agree to work with Dave and I to keep the Facebook Page a friendly and respectful page, which will reflect positively on DJML itself. 



We do not however expect the Facebook page to replace DJML. It will be an addition to DJML which our present members may or may not wish to join. 



We will notify the List as things progress.
