Dear Kit,
Probably an over-reaction on my part.
However, I have watched my grandchildren pour their heart, private thoughts and photographs out on Facebook and, being an old fart, distrust it.
From what I have seen and heard, there also appears to be serious privacy and commercial concerns.
I have several jazzmates who use it but cannot see any advantage over email.
Jazz websites for bands and societies are a different thing, but less personal than the DJML.
I will need more convincing and reassurances.
So am watching how it all unfolds on the List.
I am a member of the Australian Dance Bands list that uses Yahoo and we get hit frequently by hackers and interlopers.
Scott Anthony is right, "If people are worried about security, Yahoo is not a great alternative."
