Hi listmates,

I am writing to you from the sunny island of Barbados listening to Will Ezell play "Mixed Up Rag" ( thanks to Matt Chauvin ).

I wanted to let you know of 2 great spots on the island to visit to listen and dance to some great jazz.

1) Lobster Alive - is a laid-back, cozy little restaurant right on the beach near Bridgetown. All the taxi drivers know about the place.
The owner is originally from Australia ( came over in 1969 ) and serves up the best lobster on the island. He flies to Bequia once a week to pick up the live lobsters and then houses them in a large tank right on the premises.

There is jazz on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The band is a 4-piece ( Trombone, Drums, Piano and Bass ) and these guys are very good. They play all the standards and everyone has a great time! Come out and visit if you are ever in Barbados.

2) Waterfront Café - is located in the careenage right in Bridgetown and there is trad jazz there every Thursday evening starting at 7pm. The band is a 7 or 8 piece made up of guys from the U.K. who came to Barbados 30 years ago and never left. They have played at The Waterfront Café for 28 years. Wonderful atmosphere and great music!

Reservations are strongly recommended at both locations.
