DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT VINCE GIORDANOA NY Times Rave and a YES! Contribution from George Wein
 
 
Dear Friends of Vince,
18 days to go in our campaign to raise the money to finish our feature documentary Vince Giordano—There’s a Future in the Past.
We got a big boost this week when the legendary jazz impresario George Wein made a very generous contribution to our project (thank you, George, for your support!).  And Stephen Holden of the New York Times gave a rave to Vince and his fellow performer/collector Michael Feinstein for their Jazz at Lincoln Center show this week:
"The great vintage-jazz band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks" take "standards back to their roots and infuse them with a quick-stepping effervescence."
Our film will put Vince, his band, and the hot jazz music he's lovingly preserved for nearly 40 years, in front of an international audience where they belong.  And if we meet our goal of $168,000 - which represents about half the total budget of the film - we will finish the documentary in 2014.  We have already shot 90% of it.  Now we have to pay for editing, post-production and music licensing.
Please join this effort.  There are thank-you perks at every level, from $25 to $25,000 and your contribution is tax-deductible!
We have raised nearly 30% of our goal with just 240 funders; yet, they are only a tiny fraction of Vince's admirers - he and The Nighthawks have more than 2,500 Facebook friends and more than 10,000 people subscribe to his newsletter.  If 2,000 people donate just $50, we'll reach our goal in a flash!
