Hi to you, Mike, - and fellow listmates,

Yes, it has been years since we crossed paths on the jazz trail. Thank you
so much for your kind words about Natural Gas JB. Comments like that
coming from a musician like you are very meaningful to me and I am most
appreciative of what you said.

Also yes, NGJB (now in its 43rd year) is still playing but not as much as
when you and I used to see each other at all those festivals. We will be
featured at the Monterey Hot Jazz Society tomorrow and then, a week from
tomorrow, will be with the Modesto Traditional Jazz Society. Next month we
will cruise the San Francisco Bay aboard the restored historic WWII Liberty
ship, SS Jeremiah O’Brien. I guess the saying is true that old musicians
don’t retire, they just keep going from bar to bar.[grin]

Is this a great list, or what?

Just wanted to say hello to you, Phil. Sure been a long time since we
have seen each other. Is Natural Gas still going?
Back when I was actually active in the Dixieland scene - I guess I can say
that, since that is what the name of this list happens to be ---- There
were "trad" bands that to be honest, bored me to death. On the complete
other side of the spectrum, I always enjoyed everything that Natural Gas
did.
