Hello fellow dixieland enthusiasts,

I was just given the task of coming up with some "funny stuff" to write
on the CD booklet of our band (a 6-piece band with sousaphone and
washboard based in Germany).

During the research I've discovered this mailing list. After reading
through several months worth of mails, I was fascinated by this huge
amount of jazz-knowledge and decided to join the list.

So, as you can tell, I'm fairly new in here.

Would it upset you, if I ask for your support in the matter mentioned
above? I hope not...

For our CD we did a recording of Come Back Sweet Papa - leaning heavily
on the Hot Five Version.
I've been looking all over for some background on this particular tune -
without much success.

So I would like to ask you, if you know any stories about this piece.
Either about the original recording or about any other funny stuff that
happened when somebody worked on that piece. Basically any backgroud
would be highly appreciated.

I really appreciate what you're doing here - reading through the
archives of this mailing list makes me feel less alone with my
enthusiasm about our Music. ; )

So thanks a lot - and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Stefan
