[Dixielandjazz] Reminder about to-nite and Sunday with NewMelbourne Jazz Band

Steve,
In lieu of seeing any other answers to your question come into my inbox,
I'll throw in a response:
I'm generally a "browser" of the postings, and not an active poster, so I
guess the answer to your question will need to be addressed by the power
users of this service. Perhaps there is already a policy in place to
address the issue?
The creators/members of this list have already narrowed the community down
to a core: OKOM
Do you really suggest that we create bans within an already small community?
Right now, (to me) it is a very amusing community, and I love the various
flavors and colors offered:
I know Ross' posts will come like clockwork, and they make me smile every
time, because I respect him and I'm always happy to know he's still hard at
it, and that I have not yet missed my chance to hear him in person one day.
I know Marek will share his stories about various experiences he has had
(past and present), and will most likely include a short mention of the
beverage of choice he enjoyed on any given night. I know Mike Vax will
voice his frustrations with the hurdles he encounters in his endeavors of
jazz propagation, and I empathize with his dilemma. I know Bob Ringwald
will chime in to herald his daughter's endeavors, announce an upcoming
performance, provide reviews, or graciously provide direction to the
community. I know that the historians amongst us will enthrall us all with
debates over the word "Louisiana" and how it was spelled, when it was
spelled which way, and why it should be indexed one way or the other, along
with every detail in between. I know that the random poster will eventually
be looking for a lead sheet which cannot be found in their otherwise full
collections.
Personally, I find it all adds together to make an enthralling community.
One person's clutter is another person's treasure I guess. If we get rid of
the "clutter" - what is left? We're already in a small boat, and it seems
that cutting off one section or another would be contrary to the purpose of
getting more people to join us in our boat.
I'd actually be happy to see more postings of gigs so that I could know
where groups I enjoy listening to happen to be playing, so I might plan my
trips accordingly.
In Warmest Regards,
Fuzzy

Only a tiny percentage of us live in Australia. Only a tiny percentage of
those that do (if any) will be within range of where this band plays. For at
least 99.9 per cent of us then, these adverts are junk mail. Can they be
stopped?
Imagine the clutter if every band that wanted to posted its gigs here.
