Just back from another Swing de Gitanes performance.
I was not palnning to go this time, but the band was playing at a
place which is both a Winery (The Navot Winery) and a ninibrewery (The
Pepo Brewery), so I decided to go anyway. Glad I did!
The band seems to be better and better! Yaakov Hoter is wonderful,
and so is the basist Oren Sagi, as I have mentioned many times.
Tonight I for the first time heard Oren's brother Alon Sagi soloing
with the group (I heard him soloing with another - younger - Gypsy
SWing band called La Moanouche), and he did very well indeed.
The only unfortunate thing was that the place only served dairy food,
which I don't eat! I had to be satisfied with chips; the three of us
shared a bottle of pretty good Merlot of the Navot Winery.
Cheers
