[Dixielandjazz] Jim Godbolt RIP

I copied the brief note below from another site (without the address of the man who posted it) --  I knew very little of Mr. Godbolt other than in print, and the late Ken Gallacher's attribution of some of the merits of the classic Ruby Braff interview to the fact that Jim was also (I paraphrase) unstarchy and not without a sense of humour. 
I remember Ken telling Kenny Davern that the interview was itself no less interesting than the drawing which stirred some awe in Maestro Davern, who it seemed hadn't quite appreciated how immensely gifted Mr. Fawkes has shown himself when not using a clarinet. Kenny had by that time ceased to approve even of his own soprano saxophone playing.

Jim Godbolt has died.  Funeral next Tuesday January 22nd at St Marylebone Crematorium, East End Rd. London N2 at 1.00.
