Joe was also on the last recording date with Claude "Fiddler" Williams, whom Ken has already remembered for us. The band also included Bobby Watson, a real all-rounder I remember from a wonderful concert with John Barnes and Roy Williams, and who also recorded with Panama Francis' Savoy Sultans, as well of course as having produced the recording of Johnny Hodges music he reprised some years later in Edinburgh. The pianist on Fiddler's final rally was Henry Butler, whose post-bop does not exclude pre-bop. The setting certainly didn't discourage the great veteran!
