[Dixielandjazz] Any tune can be a dixieland tune (was Letter on Sacramento Jubilee)

I wonder how many people now that Kenny "stole" the song from a recording
made by the Dutch New Orleans Syncopators. It was recorded in January 1961
and released a few months later. Kenny's version for the Pye label was
recorded in September 1961 and came out one month later.

I could not agree more!  I've heard Dixieland bands playing the Beatles'
songs, and our own Isradixie plays Rssian, Ukrainian, Israeli and Yiddish
songs in Dixieland.
And one of the most popular tunes played by Dixie bands is "Midnight in
Moscow;"  how many pepole remember that it is a Russian song, adapted by
Kenny BAll for his band?
