Mike,
I would hardly consider myself an expert discographer, but the web
search for
'Louis Armstrong "Hello Dolly" personnel' yielded numerous sites. The
lead hit
listed the musicians as follows:
Armstrong, Louis (Trumpet, Vocal)
Young, Trummy (Trombone)
Darensbourg, Joe (Clarinet)
Gottuso, Tony (Banjo, Guitar)
Kyle, Billy (Piano)
Shaw, Arvell (Bass)
Barcelona, Danny (Drums)
It also claims the banjo was an overdub, though without stating the
source of that
information. I am interested to see if there are other credits for
this Kapp recording.
Can't vouch for the veracity, just passing on the results of my search.
Thanks,
Greg McCurty
