When I first started working in Madrid as a session musician in the late
1960's, most pop records were not actually recorded by the band itself.
Session musicians did the recording.  The actual singers would do the
vocals, though.  Due to that, I can be heard on most of the iconic pop
records recorded during that period, at least the ones that needed a
trombone!   :>
