Pianist-vocalist Crystal Joy Albert writes about her acquaintance with Ted
Curson. Crystal has lived in the Pensacola area for almost two decades and
currently serves as president of the Jazz Society of Pensacola. She writes:

Ted Curson lived in my bldg on east 7th st in the early sixties. It was a
new building with all the amenities right on Tompkins Park South. I was an
early tenant....the building was not quite finished when I moved in. By
word of mouth it turned into a musician's haven...Ted, Tootie Heath, Rasaan
Roland Kirk, my husband , Charles Albert and I

and others...memory fades. My husband was friends with everybody and had a
nice relationship with Ted in particular. They are making good music
together in the spirit world...Tompkins Park South should be a landmark for
Jazz musicians.
